Eligibility
Where there is more than one overall distinction, an element of each student’s work will be put before an independent judge or panel of judges who will select an overall winner. *
The award
Each winning student will receive a trophy and certificate.
PR Academy will publicise the award winner through media relations activity.
Judging criteria
The following judging criteria will apply where there is more than one overall distinction or the prize winner is being selected from a group of those with the highest mark.
- Original thinking: effective critique of accepted approaches to PR
- Presentation
- Writing style
The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Presentations for the PR Academy course awards 2008 and 2009 took place at the CIPR PR Centre in Russell Square.
Awards were presented by the President of the CIPR, Jay O’Connor. The winners were:
Kay Bruce – winner, Diploma, 2008/2009
Lisa-Marie Nelson – winner, Advanced Certificate 2008/2009
Sadie Metherell – winner, Diploma 2007/2008
Oliver Finegold – runner up, Diploma 2007/2008
Liz Walden – winner, Advanced Certificate 2007/2008
Tom Rye-Weller – runner up, Advanced Certificate 2007/2008
Meet past winners 2007

Roger Perkins (Diploma winner) and Kate Hardman (Advanced Certificate winner) receive their trophies from 2007 President of the CIPR Lis Lewis Jones.
Jane Revell was runner up for the Diploma and received her certificate from Guto Harri, director of communications for the Mayor of London. Amy Lyddall was the runner up for the Advanced Certificate.
