Our commitment to your privacy
PR Academy is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information you provide to us through our website. Whenever you provide personal information, PR Academy is legally obliged to use your information in line with all laws concerning the protection of personal information, including the Data Protection Act 1998.
The website may contain hyperlinks to websites owned and operated by third parties. These third party websites have their own privacy policies, including cookies, and PR Academy urges you to review them. They will govern the use of personal information you submit or are collected by cookies whilst visiting these websites. PR Academy does not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy practices of such third party websites and your use of such websites is at your own risk.

What information will you collect about me?
Depending how you use our site (for example, commenting on the blog) certain items of personal information will be visible to others using the site. As providers of CIPR courses, PR Academy will also hold enrolment information. For example: name, address, employer and email address.

When might you contact me?
PR Academy will contact you when necessary to resolve administration queries, see that you are doing OK with your studies and let you know what else PR Academy is doing. If you withdraw from a course, we may contact you from time to time to see if you want to re-start your studies.

Will you share my personal information with anyone else?
PR Academy will keep your information confidential except where disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example to government bodies and law enforcement agencies). Generally, PR Academy will only use your information within PR Academy and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. However, sometimes PR Academy may use third parties to process your information. PR Academy will require these third parties to comply strictly with our instructions and PR Academy will require that they do not use your personal information for their own business purposes.

Offensive or inappropriate content on the CIPR learning website
If you post or send offensive, inappropriate or objectionable content anywhere on PR Academy’s website or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on pracademy.co.uk, PR Academy may use your personal information to stop such behaviour.
Where PR Academy reasonably believes that you are or may be in breach of any the law (e.g. because content you have posted may be defamatory), PR Academy may use your personal information to inform relevant third parties such as your employer, school, e-mail/internet provider or law enforcement agencies about the content and your behaviour.

How long will you keep my personal information?
PR Academy will hold your personal information on our systems for the period of time that you are studying and a period beyond this to take account of future queries and to be in line with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations student work retention policy.
If you withdraw from the course, your information will stay on PR Academy systems for a period of four years and we may contact you from time to time to see if you want to pick up your studies again. Students will continue to have access to the common room/alumni forum for as long as they wish and therefore, data will be held to enable this.

Can I find out what personal information you hold about me?
Under the Data Protection Act you have the right to request a copy of the personal information that PR Academy holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. (We will require you to prove your identity with two pieces of approved photographic identification.) We will use reasonable efforts to supply, correct or delete personal information about you on our files.
Please address requests and questions about this or any other question about this Privacy Policy to The Data Protection Lead, PR Academy, PO Box 250 Ashford Kent TN23 9GD, email info@pracademy.co.uk.
