June 2011
Congratulations to everyone on another set of great results. Results confirmed in June included….
76% of our PR Diploma students achieving either a distinction (18%) or a merit (58%) in the critical reasoning test – the first assignment of this ten month course. A further 18% achieved a pass and there were just three fails out of a cohort of 51 papers submitted.
Diploma students who started their studies in Autumn 2010 did great with their planning assignment. A total of 69 papers were submitted with 16% getting a distinction and 36% a merit.
Advanced Certificate students can also give themselves a pat on the back with no failed papers for the planning assignment. 30% of papers were awarded a distinction and 45% a merit. Students who started in early 2011 submitted their first assignment – the critical reasoning test – and 69% got either a distinction or a merit (26% distinction and 43% merit)

Congratulations to our Advanced Certificate students who started their course in Autumn 2010 for great results in their first assignment – the critical reasoning test. Out of 50 critical reasoning test papers submitted, 20% achieved a distinction and 46% a merit. There were just four fails. Diploma students did equally well with nearly 18% achieving a distinction and nearly 37% a merit (68 papers were submitted).
The internal communication diploma – still quite a new course – is also producing great results. Of 31 papers there were no fails. 16% achieved distinction, 42% a merit and the rest a pass. Those studying for the internal communication certificate did well too. The highest percentage was in the merit range with 38.5% achieving this grade. Nearly 29% got a distinction and 25% passed. There were just four failed papers from a total of 52.
The very first public affairs diploma was a huge success – no fails and 19% at distinction. 31% got merit and the remainder achieved a pass.
October 2010
What a great result for our Diploma students completing their final project – out of 45 submitted papers, 18% achived a distinction and 29% a merit. There were just two fails in this excellent batch of papers.
The Advanced Certificate students also did well. Both planning assignments and final assignments – the critique – were submitted. More than half those submitting planning assignments received a merit. In 48 papers there was just one fail with the rest achieving a pass (31%) or a distinction (15%). Critique results were also good with 42% receiving a merit and 16% a distinction. Again the fail rate was very low, at just 2 out of the 43 papers.
The Internal Communication Diploma results from our Winter 2010 cohort saw the unusual result of no pass grades – only distinction and merit ! (Just one fail.) The Summer cohort did well too, the majority receiving a merit (58%).
June 2010
Our Advanced Certificate students who started with us in autumn 2009 studying both online and face to face achieved a 100% pass rate in the latest assignment (PR planning). 22% achieved a distinction and 30% a merit.
The Advanced Certificate who started with us earlier this year (2010) also achieved great results in the critical reasoning test – a more academic test around PR theory. Out of 48 students, one quarter (25%) were awarded a distinction and a huge 60% got a merit grade.
Diploma students have done equally well 52% of those who took their critical reasoning test this year achieving a merit or above and 70% of those who started in the Autumn of 2009 and have just had the results of their planning assignment being award a merit or distinction.
Internal Communication Certificate students achieved a 98% pass rate which included 65% being awarded a merit.

We were delighted to have a 100% pass rate for those internal communication certificate students who studied with us during Autumn 2009. 61% achieved a merit or above.
Students who joined us in Autumn 2009 to study either the Advanced Certificate or the Diploma in PR, completed their first assignment early in the new year – the critical reasoning test. There was a 100% pass rate for Advanced Certificate students studying both online and face to face. 62.5% achieved a merit or above. Diploma students (online and face to face) did really well too – 19.5 % achieved a distinction and 41% a merit. There were just three fails. Students now go on to complete a planning assignment and then a project on a subject of their choice.
At the March 2009 exam board, our results were confirmed as:
- Our online diploma students achieved a pass rate of 91% for their critical reasoning test – the first assignment of the course.
- Our online and face to face diploma groups combined have achieved a pass rate of 98% for their PR plans, the second assignment of the course.
- Advanced Certificate students have also done exceptionally well, our January 2009 start group achieved a pass rate of more than 97%.
